  1. nice plugin, i like. small bug in it that results in bad output on blog. will tell u details and give you config info if u email me @ john@gottb.com and we can talk more via that channel. peace – dark*

  2. Today’s update solves the problem, thanks

  3. Good plugin. It would be better if you can add an optional thumbnail feature. For example, I have a celebrity gossip site and text only links don’t increase my pageviews.

There is a good plugin called Linkwithin(.com) that creates thumbnails of related posts automatically under every post. You can use 90×90 thumbnails add an option to determine numbers of columns etc. I have a ‘popular posts’ widget that I created manually. Actually I want an exact copy of it with random posts :)

  4. Resolved:
I tried installing on WP version 2.8.2 but it gave a ‘fatal error’ while I tried to ‘activate’ it. I understand it might not be ready for 2.8.2 yet.

Thought of letting you or anyone else know who might try the same. Looking forward for the update.

Adam replies: Fixed in version 1.03 Thanks for your help.

  5. Can you insert random posts in the main area, instead of sidebar?

  6. Hi Goygoycu,
I looked at that plugin and at your site. I will consider it as a future feature or new plugin. Keep the ideas coming folks.

  7. Hi Ryan,
That would be doable. I will put in on the wish list.

  8. Is there an include code i can use instead? I dont have a widgetised sidebar.

  9. Resolved:
In my older wordpress it work perfectly, but in wp 2.8.2 Experience as the same as Sony,

In the sidebar setting I CAN change the title, But I CAN NOT change post/page, list type and the number of post count.

    And finally the result is:

Warning: array_rand() [function.array-rand]: Second argument has to be between 1 and the number of elements in the array in /home/equinock/public_html/wp-content/plugins/10-random-pages-wordpress-widget/randompages.php on line 92

Thank for the information. I have fixed these problems in the 1.03. Thanks greatly for your help

  10. I couldn’t get the plug-in to activate. It kept giving my a fatal error message. Working with 2.8.3

  11. I tried uploading it using your instructions and it doesn’t show in the plug-in library and uploading it as a zip file and trying to activate it gives the fatal error message.

  12. Hi Jeff,
It should show up in the plugins list if you put it in the correct folder. Please review the instructions. Also, upload the folder contained in the zip file, not the zip file itself. That is why you are getting a fatal error.

  13. Resolved:
    Adam,

I have attempted to get this widget working about 10 times now.

I have used two mentions to do so.

    1. Through the plugin/add new/upload. This method, which I have never had issues with better, uploads a .zip file. It uploads and unzips fine. But when I activate it I get the following fatal error message.

Can not redeclare microtime_float() previously declared in broken-link-checker on line 182.

    2. So I delete random pages. Then using FTP upload the plugin unzipped folder to the Wordpress/wp-content/plugins folder. Refresh the admin panel. Your plugin isn’t being listed in the plugin database or listing.

    Adam Replies:
    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the details and sorry about all the problem. It sounds like this plugin is using the same function name as your broken link checker plugin. I have fixed this problem in version 1.04. Please upgrade.

  14. ooops. I meant your plugin isn’t listed in the plugin database/listing when using method 2.

  15. Showing a thumbnail would be supercool since the site I need it for is a cartoon. Also excluding the last post (since that is on the homepage allready) would be nice.
    But nice plug in anyway!

  16. Tried using the widget in Wordpress 2.8.4 but it isn’t showing up on our site.

  17. Hi K2,
Did you add the widget to the sidebar of your theme?

  18. It had showed up in the center column widget area in 2.8.3, but we upgraded to 2.8.4.

Yes we put the widget in a center column widget area. It didn’t show up. Then we removed it and moved it to the right sidebar. It didn’t show up there either.

  19. Hi K2,
I have upgraded one of my blogs to 2.8.4 and the widget is still working. Are you getting any error messages? Do you have other plugins installed that could possibly interfere with this one?

  20. No error messages. Just a blank widget. I don’t know. The one widget area had a text box widget. The sidebar has Social Homes, Text, WP Polls, WP Cumulus, Archive and recent changes.

  21. I resolved the problem.

  22. I publish a blog but know nil about php or XML. I installed your widget, thank you! I do like the concept.”
I have a slight problem because the “created by line is not aligned with the rest of the sidebar. Please clink above to see. Would appreciate your help through my email above.

  23. hi, im trying to get the posts to align left, they are aliging center, can you please help?

  24. Hi K2,
What was the problem and how did you resolve it?

  25. Having the option to exclude some categories or pages will be great.

  26. Hi Victor,
I think an exclusion feature would be great as well. I am planning on adding it at some point.

  27. Good job with this! Although, I can’t seem to choose a category, as you’ve described here:

“Category: Only this category will be selected as the source”

All I see in the widget manager is Title, Pages/Posts, List type and Page count. Am I doing something wrong or is this feature not included yet?

  28. Hi Emil and others who have asked. The categories feature does not exist yet – it is planned as a new feature but not yet implemented. Sorry for any confusion. I have removed it from the text above.

  29. [...] Visit author’s website [...]

  30. I’m having a weird issue. Even though all the random posts are showing up, they all have the same link to the top article listed on the current page. I’m not sure if 2.8.4 had something to do with this. Take a look on my site.

  31. Hey Avery
It works fine for me on your site??

  32. I want add “Attribute” filter on ‘edit-pages’ like as “Author” sorting button.

    check the following screen shot:

if you have any plugin please give me.

  33. thank you admin
